Alpha Phi Foundation

In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women's fraternities to establish a Foundation. The Alpha Phi Foundation is committed to the research and education of women's heart health, as well as the well-being and betterment of all Alpha Phi sisters. Each year, the Alpha Phi Foundation awards a $100,000 grant, called the Heart to Heart Grant, to fund research and educational programs that support the improvement of women's heart health. The Alpha Phi Foundation also awards Forget Me Not grants to sisters who have great financial needs due to natural disasters, medical expenses, or other misfortunes. These grants offer Alpha Phis who are in need the greatest gift of all: the knowledge that their sisters care for them and are always there to help. Each year the Foundation also awards scholarships to outstanding Alpha Phis.

Every chapter of Alpha Phi is united by a single goal when it comes to philanthropy. Internationally, Alpha Phi’s philanthropy focuses on women’s heart health. As the Gamma Xi chapter of Alpha Phi, we organize various events to help raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. Alpha Phi Foundation divides all donations between women’s heart health research, scholarships, and leadership programs. We have two main chapter events to raise money for the Foundation. One event is an elegant evening called Red Dress Gala, and the other is a three-day event where we invite the community into our home for some delicious tacos, called Taco Phi'st.

American Heart Association

While the Alpha Phi Foundation is our national philanthropy, our local philanthropy is the American Heart Association. We love donating our time to the AHA, which is working to reduce cardiovascular disease and strokes. Our sisters participate in events to help raise awareness for women's heart health, such as the Heart Walk, Breakfast in Red, the Heart Ball and more. We also host Go Red Week, which is a week where we raise awareness on campus and in the community.
